Question Acoustic B100 Casters

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi Everyone,

I bought an Acoustic B100 Bass Combo Amp a few months ago, and recently I realized it was too heavy to carry around, so I bought a set of Ernie Ball Pop-out Casters. I got the casters, but now I see that I will have to do some carpentry to get them attached to the bottom of the amp. The holes I would need to drill into the bottom of the speaker would be 5/8" in diameter and about 1 1/4" deep, and would be placed where the four rubber disks are currently placed (near the corners of the amp). Would drilling such holes damage any of the electronics in the speaker or is it safe to go ahead? Does anybody have any alternatives? Thanks!

There's nothing where you're drilling, wire-wise anyway.

Are you gonna use the steel sleeves for the casters or just install them into the wood?

The latter would be a bad idea.

Well the casters come as pictured http://www.guitarcenter.com/Ernie-Ba...48-i1428839.gc

I was just gonna drill a hole into the wood and put the metal knob in and then screw in the 4 screws into the wood that secure the caster

You'll do fine. There's nothing there to worry about.

I just used Shepard Casters with dual wheels and brakes - that's all.
