Acoustic B2 combo

Sign in to disble this ad
I brought home a mint condition Acoustic B2 combo yesterday for $149. I'm tickled. It is the best amp I've ever had. Very tight and punchy. More low end than any other combo I've tried. I didn't know 110 watts at 8ohm could sound so good! I am debating about replacing the original speaker with an Eminence Kappa 15c 4 ohm. Would the 220 watts at 4ohm give more headroom?

If the power section wasn't designed to drive four ohms, you might have some issues. I can't say how it was designed, because I don't know, but I'll wager it is different from the older Acoustic stuff which was designed to handle loads as small as two ohms.
