acoustic b200 & acoustic 1x15 cab deal at gc

Sign in to disble this ad
Guitar center has the acoustic b200h 200watt head and the b115 1x15 cab on sale for $400, and I'm pretty sure I'm gonna jump on that... Anyone have any expirience with is amp/cab setup? How does the 15 stack up against the (more expensive) 4x10 cab? How about using both cabs? What are your thoughts?

IMO- The GC-Acoustic stuff isn't awfull bad, but it is what it is (Head and cab starter kit for players who are buying their first real rig).
For the $400, You could probably score a better quality used head and cab off Craigslist.
Save up an extra $300, and You could get a new Portaflex 350, and matching 1-15 cab.

(Again totally, IMO)- You'd be way ahead of the game quality and tone wise, going either direction.

I used one once on a sub gig, i really liked it. It was the normal bassist's rig, but it sounded killer with my bass. Big and fundamental. Warm. We did a blues rock set, and it was exactly what was called for. It kept up with 2 guitarists (twin reverbs), vocals, and a drummer. Outdoors. Not as aggressive as my ampeg micro stack, but it was great.

I run either the B-410 or the B-115 interchangeably and they are somewhat different, but both are pretty good, although I push them with the B-450 or the B-600H instead of the B-200H.

I like that B-200H head though, just went for more horses myself. .
