Acoustic B200H or Mesa Walkabout head

Sign in to disble this ad
I have the Mesa and the tone is fine. Mainly have it for a back-up for the SVT but do use it on smaller gigs with the Berg HT212. Has anyone compared the B200H with the Walkabout? For the money and the good reviews I would think about selling the Boogie and get the Acoustic. (pay some bills off). Thanks for any input.

Cheers

The Mesa is 100 times the amp that the Acoustic is. Not even a fair comparison, putting a pro level amp up against an entry level amp. No contest.

Whilst I agree that these amps aren't in the same league, I just played through an Acoustic B200H at a local jam and was totally impressed, sounded great with my P bass and had volume to spare.

I've picked up a mint cond. return from MF for $219. I figure I can't go wrong at that price for a backup and, if the OP is looking to get some cash back, it's not that crazy an idea.

Agreed with others here. Keep the Mesa. With that Berg 212 that's a real nice set-up you've got there. I know the idea of some extra cash in your pocket is tempting but I think after a couple gigs without the Mesa you'd really be regretting it.

And honestly, with the economy today you might not get as much for that Mesa as you're expecting.

Thanks all - will keep the Mesa but I suppose if I come across a used one at a great price I will pick it up.

Cheers!
