Acoustic Bass Combo Amp Prices

I hope this not too frivolous.

I have noticed that the B100 has been on sale
at GC and MF for $150. It list for $500. GC now
sells them for $250 and the B20 for $130.

Musicians Friend still sells the B100 for $150 and
the B20 for $150.

That's funny. A B20 and a B100 for the same
price.

Which would you get?

I thought you already ordered yours?! LOL! Got mine from MF last year for $249 & while waiting for it saw it at GC for $179. Snapped a pic & e-mailed it to MF & they credited my acct for $77...the price diff +10%. Got a B20 for my daughter for $99 after using a couple coupons. B20 has mp3 & headphone jacks, B100 does not, unless they've added them. B20 is probably the loudest 20watt amp thanks to it's 12" speaker, but not even close to the B100. Cheers!

You know that both Musician's Friend and Guitar Center are owned by the same company, right? (Bain Capital) The 'New' Acoustic is also a wholly-owned brand of Bain, so that's the only place they're sold as far as I know. (MF or GC).

I have a B20 I bought used (for $60) and it's been a great little practice amp.
A new 100 watt, 1x15" combo for $150? That's a good deal! I paid $100 for a used Crate bass combo with the same specs and I was stoked.

HGayRD,

I have ordered a B100. It should be
here soon. Also, I already own a B20.
I was happy with the B20, that's one
reason I jumped on the B100 @ $150.

I don't need the mp3 and headphones
on the B100. It will be my living room
amp. In my living room, I play with
others or with the sound system.

I am pissed at GC for not selling it to
me at the store for that price. I would
have had it about a week sooner.
They have a few goof balls in there
sometimes.

Thanks for the info. I didn't know that about
Bain Capital. It makes sense though.

I thought it was a good deal also, because
the B20 impressed me. Also, I am old school.
I don't fully appreciate all those new modeling
amps and don't care for all those bells and
whistles. Besides, I got stomp boxes and
preamp if I want modeling and so on. I
mostly just don't use them.

Thanks again,

Tabgdog
