The new "Acoustic" is a budget priced Guitar Center house brand which I believe are made by Kustom and badged as Acoustic for G.C.

| | | | I don't think all Acoustic house brand is made by Kustom. I think GC shops this out to best bid/maker.

The new Acoustic 360/361 that was just released by Acoustic USA is made in the US and is no way connected to the inexpensive imports.

They seem like great bang for the buck, but I'm a noob

Great sound and no problems at all.
The three year warranty is also very nice to have.
There is an Acoustic Club on TalkBass if you would like to search for more comments regarding any of the new Acoustic products: The Acoustic Club

It could be made by a totally different company at any time. It's how GC, specs, prices, and supports the gear that matters. Here GC is doing a great job.
GC Acoustic and Acousti USA are little bit connected...
They both have a name owned by GC on the front. "Acoustic", no other label on the front. GC owns the name and Acoustic USA licenses it. GC gets a cut on both. They both have the same color scheme. They both look like they could be made at the same company. Nutty if you ask me.
They both have nothing to do with Acoustic Control, they both are just trying to cash in on the name.

Russ and Harvey, who designed the original 360/361 when they were with Acoustic Control, are the ones who designed the new 360/361 for Acoustic USA. FormerEmployeesAndConsultants < Acoustic < Wiki

| | | There's a lot of muddiness in the name "Acoustic".
This is the Acoustic Control Corporation site Acoustic Control Corporation - Doug Forbes DEF AUDIO
Which is why I don't understand "Acoustic" (USA) has to call themselves "Acoustic"
GC owns "Acoustic". Totally different.
The old and new 360/361 may "look" the same but they are totally different amps, on purpose.
Other than caching in on the "Acoustic" name recognition - why bother?

as do I..the B200 got some balls.I was lookin for a combo for practice..found this for 199 used..and jumped on it...(and then bought it..lol)
It was not only the best sounding combo for 199, it was the best sounding combo in the store.(Aside from a Mesa combo ..but I wasn't gonna shell out $1000 for a practice amp)
Anyhoo..this thing sounds pretty darn good, versitile, loud, and I've even played out with it when I dint wanna bring my 410. |

Acoustic sent me a schematic and the preamp is full of NE5532 chips so it was designed to sound vintage. The 360/361 series I believe have a transistor based preamp |

| | | | I play on a B200h and i love it. Its a straight forward amp and it does its job very well. Right now Im running mine through a Peavey410 cab and it sounds great and has the power to keep up with 2 guitars, the drummer, and the PA
