Any electric players out there using the Acoustic Image Clarus 1? I would like to know how you like and what speaker systems(s) you are using. Thanks!

I'm a huge fan of AI amps. I've been running mine with a bergantino 12" mini-stack and a pair of Accugroove Tri110's.

Both rigs are incredibly clean; reminds me of playing "direct" into the mixing board.

While I play primarily "piezo" fretless basses, I play some loud rock gigs using this rig with my music man sting rays. Running the newer, more powerful AI, the system cuts through some very loud rock and roll.

My Accugrooves with my older AI.

Great rig :-)

I'm using my clarus with 2 EA wizzys. It's really loud, but I find the sound a bit thin. Great with DB though and really loud/well built gear.

How about Clarus IIr? Does the model distinction make a difference to you? If not, here's what I use with my 5-string electric. Stand-alone Eden 212xlt 4ohm: nice! Stand-alone Eden 210xst 4ohm: nice again! Stand-alone Eden 210xlt 8ohm: nice for 4 strings! Mix and match faves: 212xlt 4ohm above Eden 210xst 4ohm: chocolicious thunder in your feet and face! 210xlt 8ohm atop either of the above 4ohm cabs: great bass with some extra projectile mids. Whoo hoo! Have used these three cabs for years with great joy. However, I'm thinking about placing a GB Neox 12 into the mix (figuratively and literally) just to try something new.

Clarus IIr is a wonderful head. Powerful, lightweight, clean, and backed by excellent customer service. Play one and be prepared to be impressed.

Clarus doesn't seem to get much "ink" around here. It is probably appreciated much more in the upright crowd. However, I only play electric, so my comments reflect my application. Best!

I have the original Clarus (before the "I" was even added) and I love it. I originally used it with a 2 x 6.5 Raezer's Edge prototype that I bought directly from Rich Raezer, and I later traded that for a Raezer's Edge Stealth 10. The 2 x 6.5 was good for guitar but the Stealth 10 was a better all around cabinet for both guitar and bass. It's a very clean, lighweight rig.

I've also occasionally used the Clarus with an Aguillar GS112.
