| Marshall Hawkins, longtime pro who lives locally to me, uses an older Coda with an Underwood pickup on his European bass, no preamp. He gets a great, tight woody sound out of it for jazz, including some arco. I've forgotten what strings he uses with it, but they're not Spiros. Marshall thinks his Coda is top drawer.
