Acoustic Image Ten2 as small PA?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi

I play acoustic guitar with voice and drum machine. I gig with a Bose L1 at present, but I'd like to go even more compact by getting a combo with excellent eq and onboard effects. I know that the larger Ultrasounds and the Genz Benz Shenadoah Pro are very capable combos, but I'd like to get something lighter than those if possible. I've read good things about the Acoustic Image Ten2 which weighs in at just 28Ibs. I'd ve very interested in any opinions on the capabilty of this combo as a single unit PA for small to medium size venues.

I have had/used AI for many years. I use other gear also.

At times, I have run both my bass and the singers vocal mike through my Contra Series ll amp/cab. Sounded fine. I have not tried this with the Ten2.

I would think that if you elevated the speakers and tilted them back, [ so that you can send more of the downward firing woofer out front also ] they would work fine. However, the make some really nice powered PA speakers that are fairly lightweight that would probably do a better job for equal or less money.
