Acoustic Physics Questions

Sign in to disble this ad
I've always been un-educated with basic acoustic physics and understanding them. If anyone could inform me of the basics, such as decibels, hertz, ohms, and anything in relation, that would be greatly appreciated. Any information is helpful. Thanks!

Are you asking for 4 to 8 years of college education on a internet forum or do you have a specific question?
The stickies have a wealth of info for the taking!

I highly recommend the 100+ threads in the FAQ's that deal with this. These links are located in the FAQ thread at the top of the forum.

AFTER reading that, a rigorous discussion is available in the book
'The Loudspeaker Design Cookbook', by Vance Dickason. All the acoustic physics discussion you will ever need for an adult lifetime.

I did search it up it's just, they'll explain some of my questions but use other physics jargon that I don't know which sparks up more questions and confuses me more!

To start the terms in bold can apply to acoustics or electronics. Ohms applies to electronics and is not a direct acoustic property, but can be affected by the way an electro-mechanical device interfaces with the component driving it.
