Acoustic Wadding and Ports

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all. First off, I have read much on this subject on earlier threads. Even completed a successful wadding job on a Trace 1x15 combo.

But now it gets more complicated... I have a Trace 1048H 4x10. Not the "big empty box" that the combo was. I've gathered from previous threads that I should treat the internal braces/walls/supports the same as the cabinet walls, and cover their surfaces - though I'm leaving any holes uncovered. But...

How do I handle the area around the slot ports? They are adjacent to the side walls of the cab. i.e., you can look in and see the inside of the wall (as with any cab with large bottom or side port). Where does the wadding end?

The question may have been addressed before, but the vocabulary/terminology might well have gone right over my head!

Thanks

Fully line the cab, just don't extend it over the ports or have it come closer than an inch or so from the port entrance.

Perfect, thanks guys. I knew there was a simple answer, but things aren't so black & white when you've got your best cab lying in bits all over the room
