Adding external cab to T.E. GP12 SMX

Hi fellow TBers. I need your knowledge

I'm going to get an used Trace Elliot GP12 SMX combo (300W, 4x10). It has 2 outputs on its back for 8ohm cabs. My question is: if I plug an external cab in one of the outputs, will the built-in 4x10 stop working?

I don't think so, no. Just be sure and match the cab's, best you can. (8 ohm 4x10)
