adding a rear tuner output to an iamp 800?

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey all, I've had my old-style EA iAmp 800 for awhile now, and it's a FANTASTIC amp. My only complaint is the lack of a rear tuner output so I can have a constant connection to my rack tuner. Has anyone ever taken this amp apart and/or added a jack in the rear, and if so, how easy/feasible is it to have my local amp guy add one in for me?

The last time I used a rack-mounted tuner with an amp that had its tuner-out jack located on the front panel, I plugged a right-angle plug into the tuner out, ran the cord between the amp and tuner, and plugged the other end of the signal cable into the tuner. You could do the same thing with your iAmp if you were so inclined, but you may have to run the cable before you install the tuner in your rack.

This is what i do with my head that has the tuner out on the front. Even though my tuner has i front input as well i dont us it cause it would mean running a cord in front on my..and that just would not look good and just be in the way...and besides my Guitar player uses that one when he needs to tune up!! And hey i dont know if i would want to try to rewire stuff in your head...might not be looked upon very well if you ever had to take it in to be work upon!!...this works good and is very easy!!
