Question Advice on Ashdown 2x10T repair

Good day
Recently I got an Ashdown 2x10T cabinet, which I found (after all the excitement of getting something new to play with) got a dead tweeter, but (I assume) everytging else seems to work fine, including the crossover, that acts as a lowpass now making the cabinet sound like a subwoofer.
So I need an advice from the fine folks of TB
What do you think I should do? Just buy a new matching tweeter, install it and pray for it to sound good? Or should I just bypass the crossover and wire the 2x10 directly to jack?
Thanks in advance,
-Clayman.

Depends on how high the speakers go. I'd give it a shot, though. If you get more high end with the xover bypassed, I think that sounds a lot better than using a tweeter, especially a cheap piezo. Otherwise, you should get a decent tweeter the same size. They're not too expensive to get a good one.
