Hey Guys, need a little advice here, I'm using a Markbass 2/10'' combo with a 2/10'' ex cab, X2 wireless, dbx166xl, tuner. Now my question is should I run...
Passive Bass-wireless-tuner-dbx-amp or
Passive Bass-wireless-tuner-amp with the use the effects send and return for the dbx ??
Any advice would be great....Thanks

| | | | I would use the FX send and return for the compressor.
Does your amp have a tuner out? If so I would take the tuner out of the signal chain

That's why I mentioned the tuner mute thing, because Markbass doesn't seem to be big on mute buttons...
In that case, I'd run the tuner in your signal chain, in between the wireless and the amp... If you have a good tuner like a Pitchblack, Strobostomp, TurboTuner, or Polytune, there's no drawback to running it in the signal chain - due to those all being true bypass pedals...

I've gotten good results using a dbx266 for bass by setting the threshold around -15db, ratio @ 3:1, attack and release @ 1 o'clock, then setting output gain around +5db - so that my level is the same whether the comp is on, or bypassed... The 166 is a pretty good comp, IMO - and can work really well for bass, kick drum, or vocals if used properly...
Hope this helps,

effects send from your amp into the comp's input...
the comp's output into the effects return on the amp...
