I haven't had to ask a question on TB for a long time, but here goes:
I recently purchased an Aguilar DB750 and absolutely I love it. I have a Markbass 4x10 that's cool, but I'm looking for a 2x12 type setup. I don't think I can handle a huge cab like a DB212 or GS212, so I'm thinking of getting 2 GS112's. The GS112's are 300 watts into 8 ohms, but the DB750 is 400 watts into 8 ohms and 750 into 4 ohms. Theoretically, this won't work, but does anyone have experience otherwise? 2 GS112's and the DB750 would be an ideal setup for me, can it be done?
Thanks in advance for your advice. |

it's basically two gs112s in one cab. it's 600 watts at 4 ohms whereas the gs112 is 300 watts at 8 ohms. |

And with the DB750 you don't have to, because it cuts through at moderate levels. I haven't had the master volume above 10:30, I think.
I don't worry about it, but there might be someone with more knowledge on the subject of watts and speakers who has something else to say.
In the meantime, I'm buying my third GS112 this weekend!

Do you think it's worth emailing Aguilar to get their opinion? |

You can always email them; they're nice people.

That's awesome that you're going to be running 3 GS112's. In your last post, were you talking about running one GS112 in the studio? |

I'm not gigging at the moment, but when I do I may buy another GS112. I can only imagine how nice that's gonna sound. Thanks for the opinions.

I recently bought a GS112 & then a 2nd one a few weeks later. Up next is trying to find a head that sounds great through them, but is also not too heavy.
If I had the back & budget for a DB750/751, that's what I'd go for. |

That's what I would do. That is what Jaco's son Felix is running as his head throught 2 SL112's.

Although this might be my chance to get a DB-751 with a GS212. I'm starting all over anyway, gear wise, on electric. I'm all good on upright gear.
