Advice for repair of SansAmp RBI??

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Folks,

My RBI just quit working today at rehearsal and am seeking some repair advice. This unit is no longer under warrantee and was purchased used.

Tech21's website offers to do repairs for US customers, but shouldn't a local guitar shop be capable of repairing it?

The RBI's electronics don't appear to be very comlex (I know this because I opened up the unit tonight). I'm thinking my local shop might be able to fix it. What do you all think? Anyone have a similar experience with the RBI or dealing with Tech21?

Peace!

it's worth a shot.

repairs of low-power solid state devices like this are most often things like jacks, pots, switches, or power supplies; i.e., things that move, and things that get hot.

As simple as the electronics are, I couldn't see any visible damage or burnout marks, etc. when I was in there. But a trained, skilled repair tech ought to be able to work some magic.
