Just list them together and let the buyer(s) decide. People are going to do that anyway, even if you specifically say in the ad you will only sell them as a pair. But if you say something like that, the people who will pay attention to that and only want one or the other will not contact you, thus losing opportunities to sell your gear. Just set fair and reasonable but favorable prices and expect that you might only get 80-90% of your asking price.

so your ad reads

Awesomest bass rig ever etc etc
amp 600
cab 600
take both 1000

IYPF's ad reads

Awesomest bass rig ever etc etc $1000
amp 600
cab 600

Anyone want to bet that he who only wants either amp or cab only offers $450 either way it gets worded?

I have sold a head and cab dozens of times. Here's what you do. Offer them together as a package. Ultimately, no matter how well you state "package deal" in your ad, someone will make an offer for one or the other. The way I handle that is to simply email them back and say "My goal is to sell them together, but if I can't do that by (insert date here) I will get back to you. Fair enough?" Usually they accept. And sometimes it has actually come to that and I ended up selling the two pieces separately. Everybody is happy.

Guaranteed.

I remember when I was selling my Fender guitar amp. Over here a second hand 410 DeVille will get you north of a grand any day of the week and twice on Sunday. But I needed it gone soon because I was moving house so I was willing to take a little bit of a hit under that.

So I put up an ad that essentially asked for serious offers with a line underneath that read something like:

"If you're seriously considering making an offer on this amplifier then there's a excellent chance that you know as well as I do exactly what this amp is worth second hand. If not then Google it. Don't waste your time trying to lowball me because I'll ignore and probably laugh at you."

So exactly half an hour later I get a PM from some cat who's like "Would you accept $600?"

That's funny because they seem to go for about $950 brand new. Personally, I wouldn't pay more than $300 for one (if I wanted one, which I don't).

Perhaps in the United States this might be the case. Perhaps you could get one in the United States for $300. You can't here.

I think "over here" in his post implied that he is not in the US. Markets are different in different places.
