Advise on In-Ear Bass Rig

Sign in to disble this ad
I'm in the process of looking for an amp and while talking with my drummer brother (in Nashville) he say's "James only used a good DI and sometime a preamp for his bass rig, everything went through the in-ear monitors". So that brings me to the question, Has anybody out there done at some time or does at this time that type of a signal rig? The band I play with and one I'm looking at both use in-ears for monitors. I now use a 1U mixer and a line splitter to split my bass and vocal and then bring one line in for all the vocals, guitars and any other send I want/need. It works, even though i do not listen to my rig, I feel it and that will be gone. Thanks in advance!

Been mentioned in other threads - Add one of these to your in-ear rig:

No offense but there are a ton of threads on this. Best to search some in live sound.

None taken. I did some minor search but not in live sound.
I think it's what you search, i.e. In-Ear...

Cheers!

I've used Buttkickers before and I don't really care for them -- they basically just send vibrations through your feet as you play. Sure, it makes you hear the bass a bit better but, with the differences in vibrations with things like different strings and dynamics, it became more irritating than beneficial.

One possible solution if you're looking for an all-band type thing is the Jamhub. I use one when I mess around with a drummer friend of mine and, while it's not perfect, it is a fair solution.
