I love my GS112's. I use one most of the time, but when I use two it is not enough volume for the R&B band I'm in. They sound great just not enough. I have been using a 700RB but I just orderd a Carvin BX1500. I can't decide if I should get a gs412 or a 4 ohm 212. The price difference is about $600. I would use the 212 with the 112, or just by the 412. Does anyone have experience with these speakers? Is the 412 worth the extra money?

4x12 is aweosme, but it is a big cab. An especially handy one, but still big.

If volume is the issue then the more speakers the better... I personally would get 2 GS212's as I think they would be easier to move than 1 huge 412.

Yes, 2x 212's- and I'd get them both as 8 ohm cabs, just in case. I know the Carvin will cruise at 2 ohms, but most amps won't.

A GS412 is easier to transport than 2 212s, and sounds a little better. As long as it will fit in your car there is no reason not to go GS412. One of the best bass cabs ever made IMHO.

I would add one more 8 ohm gs 112 as long as the amp you are using can go down to 2 ohms. Three twelves in vertical alignment will offer the best dispersion (ie, sounds good to you AND the crowd. The gs112 is pretty small, so a 3 stack shouldn't be too tall or unsteady. Also, having the driver of the 3rd twelve by your ear will allow you to hear yourself better without killing the crowd with volume. This rig would handle 900 watts, I can't imaging needing louder than that!,
However, I must admit I LOVE the gs412. Such a monster tone. It is just too big for ME. I like the modular concept much better. I had two gs 112's and it was PLENTY of volume with my IAMP 800 for every gig I ever took it one. Sounded pretty great. Any louder than the three gs112's can handle, and you really should be getting more PA support.
