Holy crap does this thing kick! its amazing, super for slapping and fingerstyle from Jaco to Rocco. its everything i would want an amp to sound like and its got plenty of booty if you need it. Only problem i had was that i had a pretty bad buzz that sounded like a ground issue. we tried different outlets and i even plugged into the guitar players strip but still got a lot of buzz. even when the tweeter was all the way down it was still there a little. I hope it was just the neon signs and a/c units. do class D power have problems with grounding or is this just the AG500? thanks

The AG500 is not class-D, but rather class-T, or Tripath topology. Similar in some ways to class-D, but uses class-T output stage and a conventional linear power transformer. Was your bass plugged into the amp when you got the "buzzing"? Using single-coil pickups? Did you check both your instrument cables and speaker cables for issues?

Are they still using Tripath? I guess that this company is dead.

Not about to hijack the thread, just wanted to share my similar experiences. I've got some buzzing with my AG500 as well. It's not constant by any means, occurs maybe 1-2 times in an hour for a few seconds.
