Hi all, I have searched some threads but havent find the answer I'm looking for. My current rig is a carvin bx1200 and brx 10.4 in bridge mode (4 ohms, 1200). The cab sounds amazing, is loud and handles the low B well, but I want a little more bass, bottom end. I was wondering if using the aguilar gs 12's cabs will sound a little better. I was thinking of using two 8 ohm aguilar gs212 or one 4 ohm gs412. Also, is there any difference in sound, volume between using two gs212 vs gs412? Anybody using carvin bx1200 with aggie cabs? Thanks in advance all!!

It's not exactly an apples to apples comparison, but I own two DB112's (8 ohms each) and one DB212 (4 ohms)....it makes quite a stack with my DB750. If I was forced to choose between the two 112's or one 212, I'd probably take the one 212. Although the sound is pretty close, I think the 212 is a little fuller and has a little more punch.

On the other hand, for convenience sake, I like the portability of the two 112's. For me the sound is so close, if I had to make your decision, I'd go with the two 212's just because they'd be easier to haul. Of course, I'm 50 years old and when you get to be my age, portability does play an important role in the equation. To be honest, I don't think you'd be disappointed with either set up. I love my Aguilar rig.

Dunno re the 2 & 4x12's But the li'l GS112 I had HANDLED the low B OK, but wasn't that a 'robust' a cab... It wasn't hard to get it to 'fart out' Where-as the Berg AE112 I got now seems much more able,- sorry doesn't answer yr Q. much.... might add as another bump tho :-)

I run a gs412 and I love it. I'm also interested in knowing how much of a difference there'd be between one 4x12 and two 2x12 cabs. All I know is that you'll definately be adding some rich low end to your sound if you go with an aggie 212. You already have an awesome head so I say try it out. I'm thinking about swapping my 412 for two hot white db212s so I can adjust my rig for smaller and larger venues.
