Aguilar db 750 slaving issues

Sign in to disble this ad
Hi all, I have a db 750 and currently grabbed a db 680 preamp. I connected one of the two unbalanced outs of the db 680 preamp into the power amp in of the db 750. Seems to work fine but when I push the operate switch to mute on the db 750 it makes a very loud pop noise. Am I connecting it wrong? Or the two units are not shaking hands with each other? Any help or advice would be appreciated. BTW I currently do not own a poweramp.

Everything sounds fine. Since you are essentially using the 750 as a power amp, it is not surprising that you may loose some of the functionality. You should mute the signal at the 680s input.

Thank you jgr that make sense now that you mention that. Unfortunately the db 680 preamp has no mute function or mute switch, I guess in a real time environment (gig) I shouldn't use that mute function when slaving the 750. Thank you for the quick response!
