Possible silly questions but I have to ask since I can't try any of these amps and see it by myself.

How do these amps compare volumewise to a Mesa 400+ or an Ampeg SVT Classic when run at 4 Ohms? I'm asking with regards to these two amps because they are the ones that I've owned.

Also, regarding the tone, I remember reading in other threads that they sound quite tube alike, some people even mentioned like an SVT but more modern sounding. Some others have mentioned that the DB's sound really good when played on their own but not that well when on a band/mix setting...Is this the case?

Ok, volume is more a matter of speakers than it is sheer wattage ratings. Iow, you could have a 1000 watt amp, but if you're running it through a 1x12 cab, you won't have much volume. A 100 watt amp through 4 12's would, in fact, be much louder. Since your question is about volume, it's speaker cabs that you need to be looking at. All the amp's you've listed are potentially loud, depending on, you guessed it, the speakers you use. Tone is much more subjective, and must be evaluated by using your own ears, for real. Good luck.

I mentioned running the amp at 4 Ohms, but, yes, you are right, it depends a lot on the cab you are using.
I'll be running it through a Bergantino NV610.

The reason I bought my DB750 is that I heard a guy playing one in a band outdoors, and it sounded phenomenal. I've used it more than my WT-800 since I got it. I haven't gigged with it since I dropped the Telefunken into V1, but it kills in my garage. I can't wait to play it at the Harley dealership later this summer. BTW, I use a GS410 with it. It rules. RULES!

Well alrighty then, with the NV610, any of those amps would be LOUD, with the Aguilar heads probably the loudest. Still, tonally, all about the ears.
