Thing is with the internet there are so many people saying all different things and you never know who to believe. I've heard yes it'll be fine, no you'l fry something, it's more dangerous to use a low power amp with high power speakers etc., etc.!
I'm sure you're right, and a lot will be come sense and staying aware - turn it up gradually and keep an ear open for clipping then make sure you never go anywhere near that level again.
re. the Peavey v Aggie, well just had half hour play and the Ag is ****Ing amazing! No surprise I suppose, the Peavey is an amazing amp for the price - about £800 will get you the tanklike 450W head + matching 410 and 115 full stack! But it sounds pretty thin next to the big boy! Early days yet though, I'll have a good mess about in the next few days.
Seems I'm not alone in the Spector/Aggie camp, looks like a fairly popular combination?
