Unhappy Aguilar GS 212 MAJOR issues

Sign in to disble this ad
Just bought an Aguilar DB 751 and a GS 212, my dream setup... or so I thought.
I've just received my 3rd cabinet from Musician's Friend as the other two sounded fried when I got them, THIS ONE DOES TOO!
I've hooked the DB 751 up to my Epifani 4x10 and it sounds fine. In short, done every little switcharoo I can think of to isolate the issue and it seems to point to the GS 212 every time.
Has anyone had any problems with Aguilar cabs similar to this? I was of the mind they have a rock solid reputation. I own some of the stompboxes and they're killer. The head is gorgeous. Just can't figure out what's going on. Extremely disappointed so far.
Any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks guys!

dang!!

That's really odd. Sounds like MF.com received a bad batch of them and you keep getting cabs from the same batch!

Contact Aguilar directly and explain to them. They SHOULD shed light on the situation. Then give them one more chance before demanding total refund.

Have you checked your cable? What do the cabs sound like?

Very suspicious. What are your eq dials set at? There's more going on here than the op has mentioned thus far, I'm sure.

Yeah, something's definately amiss here

I've owned 4 Aguilar cabs (3 x GS and 1 x DB) never a prob with any of them?

Hope you get it sorted quicky as a GS212 with that head should be / will be sublime IMO

Both of my Aggie GS112's have been rock solid. Bought one new (from MF) and one used from a TBer. No problems at all.

My GS212 was my rock solid workhorse when I was gigging four times a week mostly outdoors in all kinds of conditions and was totally reliable.

I would be patient until you get the right one...the GS cabs sound great! My GS410 is secondhand from a TB'er, nothing but great things to say about it!

Sounds kind of like a problem that I'm having right now. Ordered a GS112 like three months ago. It arrived May 2nd and it sounded fried as well. Contacted the reseller immediately but I've been waiting for over two months now for a replacement while sending them several e-mails, asking when I can expect it to be replaced. The defective cab is still sitting here, waiting to be picked up. Finally I emailed them yesterday that I'm done with it and that I want a full refund. It's a well known reseller in the UK but so far their support isn't what you'd expect.

Paired it with an MB LMII by the way. This amp sounded fine with a borrowed MB 4x10 so I'm sure it's the cab. I had already bought a cover for this cab but I'm now reconsidering my options.

A quick noodle to show you how it sounds: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9dQBV6hH6QY

PM sent. I'll disclose it later if needed but I'm giving this reseller one more chance to solve this graciously.
