OT here, but if you dig that vibe, search Youtube for 'Herbie Hancock Space Captain'. Susan, Derek, Oteil, Vinnie, Herbie, and some of the most wicked trading between Derek and Herbie I've ever heard. Amazing groove and performance. |

OMG! I know this is off topic, but that video is awesome. Fantastic groove and of course vocals are amazing.

Thanks,
Steve | There is such a sense of 'joy' to that performance, along with the technical excellence and groove. One of my favorite clips of all time. That performance is on Herbie's 'Imagine Project' CD, which is amazing all the way through. I was lucky enough to see that tour in a beautiful outside venue in Detroit a few years back, with Pino subbing for Tal Wilkenfeld, and Vinnie on drums... stunning!
OK, back to the Aguilar love |

Luckily the venue I'm playing tomorrow night has an AMAZING 8,000 watt PA system. I'll be running a single DB112NT on stage and taking direct line from the TH500 to the board. We usually keep stage volume only to where we need it, and the single 112 will be enough. But I'd prefer two for extra "oomph" and, of course, the look. |

I borrow an older Carvin RL410T for the gig and I decided not to use it as I A/B'ed it with the single Aguilar DB 112 NT and I SWEAR the DB 112 thumped harder and more tonefully. The difference that quality makes is unreal. |

I did play the TH500 a bit through the GS212 and it really is close to the DB750. Amazing! I've had the DB750 for many years and it has always been my go to amp. It recently developed a nasty buzz problem which I a, having trouble working out (myself), so I wanted to pick up a backup amp before I send the DB750 for repairs. Now I'm in no rush!
