Question Aguilar SL Cabs: More like DB or GS?

Sign in to disble this ad
Are the new Aguilar SL cabs more like their DB or GS cabs, tone wise? Apparently most find the DB cabs to have a stronger mid presence compared to the GS. Haven't tried the new SL cabs yet, and was curious which they're more similar to...or in between?

I have/had all three of them
At one point in time I put Emimence DeltaLite 2512II speakers into my GS112s.
And that's almost exactly how the SL112s sound (the SL112 has customized 2512II as well): GS112 with a much better mid articulation and more highs than the db112.
To my ears, the SL112 lies RIGHT in the middle between the db and the GS

definitely, the SL112 has much more natural midrange than the scooped GS112. To my ears the SL sounds like it has a little less lowend, but it might just sound that way because of the removed mid scoop. Definitely more natural sounding on it's own than the DB112, although I always thought the DB112 sounded great in a mix
