I haven't tried either one but I bet I wouldn't kick either one out of bed if I had!

FWIW, Bass Club Chicago has both cabs listed on its site if anyone wants to go over there and compare. If you call over there, Mark may be able to compare the two.

I have experience with both of these, and they are both killer. I'd call the SL112 'smokey', and the AE112 'crisper'. The Aguilar has a great character, and would lean more twords a vintage vibe. The Berg is easily one of my most popular cabs period, and has a nice clarity and expressiveness to it. Footnote - There are rumblings that the neo cabs will be going away, and Bergantino has already discontinued the AE line due to rising neodynium prices.

According to Jim's last posts on TB in this thread, it's the HT series that he's discontinued, because his supplier has stopped production of the proprietary tweeter he uses. Unless something's changed, the AE series is still in production...?

Nope. Jim discontinued the HT first, then a week later the Neo price increase hit and he discontinued those too. So for the near future, the only thing he's producing are the two NV cabs. I'm hoping he's got a rollout of the new ideas soon!

I believe the HS line is still going to be made as well. But it will be interesting to see what else Jim comes up with.
