Ok, neo is now more expensive!

Anyone tried this 1200w 4 ohm cab?

Yeah, I find Aguilar gear to be really great stuff, but overpriced. More overpriced now than when I purchased my GS112s 8 years ago. Am looking forward to hearing opinions of the new cab.

Holy crap, I knew these would be spendy, but $1300 is ridiculous. Anything over $1100 for a 4x10, and it should have a built in amp and crossover. That's crazy. I don't think twenty pounds justifies $200 price increase from the DB410. That DB410 looks juicy though.

Actually, it's a 30-lb. difference. I know because I have a DB410--it sounds great and looks great, but it sure isn't light.

I agree that that's pretty damn expensive, but that's where high-end cab prices are now. The Berg AE410 is $1200 and the Genz Benz Uber 410 is $1159. Plus, the prices on neo speakers are going up now because neodymium prices are spiking, so the Berg AE line is being discontinued and the others may either do the same or get even more expensive.

I was under the impression that we're assuming neodymium prices are going to spike, not that they have spiked already. Although maybe there's no difference. It's pretty dissapointing that the gap between entry level and pro bass gear is widening. I picked up my two Aguilar GS112s in 2003 for $700 for the pair brand new. Even the smaller companies like Schroeder seem to be going up in price. Pretty lame for people like myself who struggle just to make more than $10 an hour. Granted I live in a city with an extremely low cost of living compared to nearly every other major metro area.

Its a real tower of power. They are not boxes of air but they certainly move a lot of air. With the eq set flat and tweeters at noon, I was amazed at the clarity as well as the low end (which I was worried about moving from 15s to 10s).

I got them a little late for my club gig this week but they will see action next month on the big stage and I will really be able to assess them with better detail. I do think they look awesome as well. I am a vintage guy and this is my first dive into more hi fi territory. The dealers here in California were really excited to un-box them and have a look. The dealer and I both worked really hard talking with Aguilar in NY over the last few months, track shipping dates etc since february to getting this rig together but it was well worth the wait and excitement.

They've been spiking for the past year. Its just gotten to a point where manufacturers can no longer eat the increase. its lame but its either that or they go out of business.

That is unfortunately why Jim Bergantino stopped producing the AE line. He felt that the price increase he would have to pass on to the customers put the cabs (especially the 410) over the 'reasonable price a consumer would pay... to your point, about $1,100).

That $200 price increase over the DB410 is pretty much the increase in the neo drivers over ceramics.
