aguilar vs. genzbenz

Sign in to disble this ad
i have a genzbenz shuttlemax 12, played mostly with my stingray 5 and now it is time to buy a cab for it. in brazil good cabs are hard to find, so some of them i need to order before i can test it. so that's the purpose of the thread.
i want a lightweight cab, for small gigs and rehearsals. i play mostly rock (references: red hot chili peppers, green day, etc) in a 4 piece band.
i played thru an aguilar 12" and although i liked very much the sound it seems to me it can't handle a little higher volume with enough definition.
other options are markbass or genzbenz. any opinions?

Considering you are in Brazil, one huge consideration is whether you can get customer service if something ever goes wrong. Markbass makes some wonderful gear, but their reputation for international customer service is very weak. Aguilar is much better. But from what I've seen in my time on this forum, Genz Benz is one of the best when it comes to taking care of customers. Since all three companies make great amps and cabs, if I was in Brazil I'd buy Genz Benz.

I should have seen this thread coming one day..
Both companies make world class gear.. And both are different sonically.

Well i have experienced both Genz Benz Customer Service and Aguilar Customer Service in recent years.. Each time Genz came through with flying colors. Soaring way above all others in every way.. So kudos to the company with compassion and the will to deliver above all, Genz Benz.
Other companies should take lessons from the folks at Genz Benz on how to assist and work with their current and prospective customers. Just my opinion...
Yes I am a Genz endorser, but I'm a bass player first..
