Nice - very Nice
Looks like the preamp can connect to the powered cabinets via RJ-45 ethernet type cables - everything stays in the digital domain until it hits the amps.
Speaker cabinet is a 3-way with bi-amp. With DSP to allow you to tune/customize the EQ for your own venues.
One nice signature rig. I'm sure I can't afford it.

That is definitely competing with TC Electronics for the "awesome high tech rig I want but cannot afford" cognitive space in my brain.

If you google either there's a Musician's Friend link that shows both as being discontinued. Bummer.

LOVE Alain Caron.
Looks like a pretty sweet system/concept.

Never been a fan of MarkBass cabs- even though the Music Man AudioPhile cabs they built were insanely good sounding.
Dunno where the disconnect happened between those and their current offerings.
IMO naturally.

Musician's Friend ?
As long as the markbass.it website says nothing about it, it ain't so....

Here some pics from a concert in Berlin with Mike Stern and Didier Lockwood...
The OP says in his blog that the fretless tone was better than on his records...

Edit: In this particular instance, I would not know to whom or what to attribute the excellent fretless tone... Alain, F-Bass or Markbass... but I am sure the combination of all three must have been awesome

I don't think this stuff was released last year (i.e., after its NAMM introduction in 2010), which is probably why MF shows it not available.

It looks like the cab is now in production (although it looks like it was changed to a two way cab with tweeter... no mid driver, which is a bit strange since it is still biamped). It is listed on the MB website now, but with very little info... probably just starting to be produced. I assume the preamp will soon follow.

However, Markbass then needs to convince Guitar Center/MF to carry the item, which usually takes a while (which is why the new MB products are available in the EU much earlier than in the US).

My guess is, the entire system (two powered biamped speakers and the stereo preamp pedal) will be shockingly expensive.

Edit: It looks like the cab part of this 'system' is not called the 'BAS 121 Lite' and is listed on the MB products page with the other cabs.
