Anyone have any experience with Albion Amplification?

Very little information on the website, but the pictures are cool! Very little information to be found via google, aside from distribution press releases.

C'mon, not a single response? How unlike the usually opinionated TB folk!

The shop I work at received pamphlets from them, but there is zero info on them. All I know is it's Chinese made, but beyond that zilch!!

Asides their fancy looks, i don't see anything that looks too special about them.

IMHO just more Far eastern made amplifiers.

Looks like the company is too new to say anything really. But the power ratings seem pretty low for hybrid heads especially as these are their most powerful bass amps.

It's a Roman term for Great Britain, probably derived from the white (Latin: alba) cliffs of Dover.

Yeah, A 300w and a 180w head...my first thought is that they've come out with a bunch of fancy looking practice amps.

Well there you are. Same latin root as albino, anyway.

And an obvious attempt to obfuscate the products true origin and make it appear to be of fine Anglo-Saxon stock. Not.

They (Albion) are a brand of a British company, but the amps are manufactured on contract in China. This is not uncommon and pretty much every big company does it today. If the quality control is good these products are just as good as the other ones manufactured elsewhere.

Basically, these things are the same as Wharfedale's amplifiers, which were designed by Stephen Grindrod of Marshall and Korg/Vox fame. Both companies are divisisions of the International Audio Group from Huntington, England. Being sold under different brand the Albion amps are naturally fitted in with somewhat different cosmetic styling.

The Wharfedale's musical instrument amps debuted already in 2008/2009 but due to lack of proper distributing to anywhere outside UK, and Wharfedale being a brand associated with HiFi speaker products, they pretty much ended up unnoticed and were never a huge commercial success.

Ah.... Wharfdale. There are loads of them here in Northeast north Carolina for some reason....

A church i go too/run sound for has a medium sized wharfdale sound system, and while its not superb, it does get the job done. For Church, and live stuff, running only vocals and guitars into it. My bass always has a dedicated set up.
