Looking for a light weight power amp, (at least 750 watts into 4 ohms) dont care if I have to bridge it. But I have heard that the damping factor should be at least 600 to keep the speakers from moving too much, and most of the ones I have been looking at (crown drivecore xls 1000) have a damping factor of around 200, any help out there?

Look into Carvin's stuff: Carvin.com - Guitars, Amplifiers & Pro Audio: Professional Power Amps
I am currently running that type of rig with the exception of the power amp being light weigh. It sounds fantastic. Prices aret too bad either...

Just so you know, you can have 1000+ in front of that cab, Mark's Recommendation. It performs well with high power. I never had less then 1200 up front. Of course never pinned my gain/ master ever. Not even close. |

BTW, it's not like you're going to use all 2K watts, but it's really nice having the headroom so you never enter into the power amp's coloration.
here it is with the alembic pre:
and with the UA:

Although it doesn't seem to be a factor in real life, go figure
