As whether or not it would be a step down, I can't say. Never dealt with Fender CS. |

When I do see concert footage, it's usually a stack of some sort, or a bass combo. | Many disagree, but I still think the light micro amp does not sound better than the elite ( SVT, Thunderfunk, DB 750 etc) heavier bigger power supply amps. At the bigger named concerts you usually see the heavier models, basically cause the players don't have to carry them. The same players usually at local gigs you will see micro amps. I do think the future you will see the Micro amps surpass the heavier powered supplied amps.

All I had to pay for was one hour of the local tech's time, GB covered the rest. And I purchased the amp used.

GB was an oasis of customer service in the wasteland that is today's marketplace. If Fender squanders that reputation by bringing them under their enormous and shoddy customer "service" department, they are going to lose more money through lost sales then they will save by conglomerating service and repair work.
Straight up dumb. | Well that's just it, big company takes over small company and personal service gets lost. Fender has a customer service "department" (phone jockeys) who take down your complaint, type in your info and send it to another department, etc. Whereas before with Genz Benz you called and spoke directly with Jeff or Andy. It seems Fender has removed that direct phone access now. But I've seen since this thread started that Andy is still posting and pm'ing here on TB so looks like "all is not lost."

That's Hapa's gig to reply to questions like this. There was an SWR thread that went down this same road, and he said you'll find out at NAMM what's all going on. In the meantime, hey, why let that interfere with everybody's rampant and baseless speculation?

My 2008 MIA P bass is great, and I have an old Bassman 250/115 that I've gigged and punished mercilessly for years without a problem.
It's too expensive, but that isn't just Fender. |
