I have a friend locally who is also a bass player. He also happens to play through a Genz-Benz amp head. He told me a rather strange story about unloading his gear at a rehearsal studio. He somehow got distracted and became involved in a long conversation. After about 20 minutes he realized that he had left his GB head on the rear seat of his car with the windows down. In a panic he raced outside to check on his amp. To his surprise, he discovered that two Genz-Benz amp heads were sitting on his back seat. It seems like talkbass news travels fast.

Old accordion player joke. Guy goes into a store to get a soda, comes out and someone broke into his car and put two more accordions in his car.

I'd be shocked. They keep their product lines small and focused, making the stuff that sticks around easier for them to build and killing stuff that doesn't make them enough money - kind of Apple-ish in that regard.

Yep, usually used for accordions. Also heard it used for bagpipes. And now Shuttles and Streamliners.

My point is withdrawn and customer service remains benchmark for industry far as I'm concerned

You heard from GB customer service and NOT Fender? Is that correct?

I thought that was a Banjo joke?

The way I heard that one was that someone sent a bagpipe to the cleaner's and it came back with pleats and that's how the accordion was invented .

I like that variation.

I forgot about banjos. But seriously, let's not derail this thread. I couldn't sleep at night knowing that I might have contributed to derailing such an important topic. For the record, as a happy Genz-Benz user I feel comfortable poking a bit of fun at all the panic and hysteria on the preceding pages. However this all falls out, I'm still going to enjoy my STM-600.

I as hoping to upgrade my Shuttle 9.0 to a Shuttle Max 9.2 in the coming months, but I might just "hold that thought"

The word from the NAMM show is that Fender is concentrating on Fender Bass Amps.
I guess the easiest way to win is to buy your competition and bury them.

*** fender!!!!??? Are you kidding. Genz builds real bass gear that a player can get behind. Fender designs are mostly rehashes or about 10 years behind other makes. BS BS BS

"The word from the NAMM show..."

Does that mean that some guy is walking around saying that or was that coming from official Fender people? What does, "...concentrating on Fender Bass Amps." mean? Are they going to stop making the other lines of amps, or does this mean they are still going to make them, but promote the Fender named stuff?

Without clarification, that is a dangerous post. I don't mean to attack you, but some clarification would be greatly appreciated.
