Without clarification, that is a dangerous post. I don't mean to attack you, but some clarification would be greatly appreciated. | Well they have to concentrate on something, since their guitars and basses have not had much market success. ... wait, what?

Lots of stuff sits on store shelves for years; mostly because there is already a better priced competitive item from Fender that is newer.

Maybe someone who is there can confirm?

| | | | Well, I'm from France as well, and I can see how there would be a problem with the importer here.
Don't know if it's the same one for the rest of Europe, but when I bought my SL900, there was no way to see/hear one around.
There was a GB dealer listed near me, who on the phone didn't have anything but an older shuttle amp, and didn't know s&@t about the SL series.
Ordered online, and glad I did so.
If FMIC handles GB now, I can see how they would try to make things better, in their case maybe importing themselves, and maybe they have to wait for a previous contract to end, thus the going slow, who knows ?
In any case I wouldn't be so sure being handled by FMIC is not a good thing though (no interest there myself), look what happened to Gretsch, things have been great for them since FMIC took control (and including for the Gretsch family!) |

I've seen SWR at the local SA though. If true Fender is probably looking at Musicians Friend in that decision too though

No new basses in the past months, no new amps or cabinets. The only stuff thats new is the used stuff that comes in. |

I don't think they even move enough new bass stock to notice any new arrivals.
Truth is that GC does have some debt problems and it's my understanding that they owe Fender a lot of money.
I can't see any connection to Genz Benz on that though.
