Country Joe (and the Fish) would be proud?

Most disturbing fact to me is the lack of response to all of this. We know Andy minimally pays alot of attention to this forum
At the same time I heard from both of them this week business as usual, so like William Goldman says , noone knows anything |

Fender Musical Instrument Corporation who also owns Guild (since 1995), SWR, Fender, Jackson, etc. bought Kaman Music (who owns GB, Takamine, Ovation, CB700, Hamer, etc.).
Jeff Genz apparently had already sold at least part of GB a long while ago.

They didn't seem too assured they would be getting any more GB stuff either; but they do want to keep stocking the cheaper combos from them. But then again, not a lot of bass stuff changes hands in that store unless its used/consigned or Squier/cheap.
Edit: I see; these are discontinued models, with updated newer versions out now. This store has older stuff waiting for buyers. Bet you the STM-600 is the same one that came in when they were first released.

I happened to start touring heavily with SWR stuff a little bit after Fender bought them. Woof. |

A "legacy" (in the bass or business world) means nothing to me. But feeding my kids and seeing to it that they have everything they need and most of the stuff they want means a lot. I can come up with more great ideas if I came up with some to begin with. But if a company ever waved a huge check in my face to buy something I created (be it an idea or an entire company) I owe it to my family to take that now and figure out what's next later.
Again, if I came up with great ideas once, I can do it again.

All this talk of GB, but we've lost track of where all these nasty rumors really began. Everybody seems to be assuming SWR's gone, but does anybody know if SWR's really going the way of Hamer?

Both lines are being moved to dormancy so that Fender can concentrate on the Fender line of bass amps. |

| | Hyper-Registered User | | | | | I am sorry to say that there was no Genz presence at NAMM. They were nowhere to be found, including on the full list of participating vendors. I can take a shot of the list for you all if you'd like, but I'm sure plenty of other TBers can confirm. | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
