I don't read that as a good news....
As I recently said on another thread, now you can't reach Jeff Genzler on his mailbox anymore, it's Josh Inouye replying, the SWR and Genz Benz brand manager .
What's going on ? really not good..... | Was he also an exporter, perhaps?

- .... and our f*@lsdg VAT , 19.6 % in France
All in all that could raise + 30 % !
So it's sometimes not usefull at all to buy in USA for us. Cool for strings or sencondhand market, but not for heavy new gear. Even @ Bass Direct UK, it would cost 50 € more to get it... if only they had it !!
Germany can have them: they sell it 249 € + 9.90 € shipping cost, it's fine, just 3 € more than in my country... where you can't find them. |

John | Owned a music shop from the early 70's through the 80's sold both Fender and SUNN. Saw both the glory days and the bad times for both companies. I remember the SUNN rep coming in and telling us that Tom Hartzell had died and the future of SUNN was in doubt. There was still quite a bit of their gear on show room floors and they continued to ship and fill orders as best they could but it was obvious that SUNN was in trouble and the Hartzell family wanted out of the amp business.
The Fender rep came in and told us they were going to aquire SUNN which made us happy as SUNN was one of our best selling lines and it meant greater backing and future success for SUNN. He flat out told us that Fender only wanted SUNN's manufacturing facilities because Bill Schultz didn't get any factories included in the CBS buyout deal. Also added that Fender had no real intention of continuing SUNN's line as it was all about keeping Fender's amp lines alive.
