Twinkies would probably help to get the really fat tone too.

Hey Hapa,
Ouch; "currently a free agent" doesn't sound like things are progressing like you might have wanted.
Inspite of all the fun and Fender bashing, I'm sorry to hear this news.

The only hand capitalism has in that is providing the tax dollars to fund ever expanding war machine.

That is, however, immaterial to the discussion at hand, except to say that capitalism in general, and the corporate way of life as it currently exists, is at odds with the best interests of the consumer at large.
I would agree 100%.

I like GB a lot and I dislike Fender a lot. I am at odds with myself right now.

For what it's worth, I am still able to order Genz-Benz gear to my heart's content (I'm a Genz dealer here in the U.S.).

So it seems to be situation normal from my perspective, although that doesn't mean a heck of a lot. Dealers are often the last to know about things like this.

Yep usually you find out a few days "after" you received your largest order yet!

LOL. Sounds like you've walked a mile in my shoes! That's exactly why a different and even more well known amp company is no longer welcome in our store. They screwed the pooch back in 2006 or 2007, and we still hang up on them today.

How about the company that comes in and tells you if you order X amount of products, (usually a fairly big X amount) they will give you a protected territory! You think that you can do good with the line so you go ahead and order it.

Then a few months later they open up some Joe Blow who's on the other side of town, or in another town not too far from you. When you call you rep to complain, he tells you he's really sorry but the company changed their policy and there's nothing he can do about it.

Had that happen too when I ran a store for about 10 years.

So you're saying that the former Soviet Union doesn't have the natural resources that we do? In Russia, the consumer has almost no options on items available for purchase, including food, and in many cases, no items to purchase at all. People stopped me in the street wanting to buy my shoes and Levis.

Sorry, but capitalism is the only economic system to produce a food surplus. And when was the last time you stood in a line two blocks long to get a chance at buying some shoes? Which economic system is better for consumers? How's China doing for its population? Cuba? North Korea?

People can sit around and whine about being victims of the capitalistic system or they can exploit it and enjoy the benefits. Usually the whiners are people who won't put out the effort to make it themselves and somehow feel entitled to getting a chunk of the taxes I pay for their benefit.

Either way, my new Fenz Benz gets a whopping 128 BPM to the gallon. I just wish the wood paneling wasn't made out of cheap foto-flame maple. I'm more of a quilt guy....

apparently the rumor about Fender taking over Mercedes is true, and the first combined new product was designed by Jeff - the automotive Genz Benz Shuttle:

That reminds me, if things don't work out for GB and Fender, this is the next product the GB design team is working on. Yeah that's a 500 watt class D amp in there

Its easy to forget what a small community TB is compared to the larger bass community as a whole, which exist in lots of forms, from hobbyists to professionals. If one were to gauge Genz's standing in the bass world just by its presence here on TB, it would be quizzical that there'd be any signs of them going away. Their popularity has seemed quite dominant in the last few years as far as amps go. Just goes to show that although we together at TB seem to be at the center of the bass universe at times, we are merely in its orbit.
