All tube Fender PA100 as a bass head?

A shop near me has one of these with the cabinets for 300, I'm thinking of getting it and running it through a bass cab. Opinions?

Sweet, I should have a new amp day in about a month. No one around here is even attempting to buy it

they're a good bass amp, especially if you like to run a sansamp. They do not have a mid control so that might be an issue.

Hi.

Even though I haven't used mine that much as a bass amp, it's still a great amp. Especially for that price.

If the cabs are PA columns, do not destroy 'em with bass though.

Works wonders as a vocal amp, really well matched with SM58 and 421 without even matching the impedance.

I'd snag that in a sec.

Regards
Sam

BUY IT!!!!!
My main amp is a PA100. May look a little awkward and people will raise their eyebrows and scoff at it, but I've owned many amps and played through countless more and so far this is probably my favorite, tone-wise and in terms of the clean:breakup ratio and volume. Amazing amazing amps. Not to mention they're really cheap compared to other vintage fender tube amps. $300 is a steal. I would probably buy another one if I found one that cheap; even just the head alone.

And as for the lack of mid controls: the treble, bass, and individual channel volume controls allow you to compensate for that very easily. Just think of it this way, the bass and treble controls each go from -5 to 0 to +5. With this amp the mids are essentially always at 0. So, if you want a mid boost, just cut the treble and bass back below 0 and boost the channel volume.

I think it's a cool looking amp.
I have a 135 and it sounds great with bass guitar.
Will 100 watts be sufficient for your needs?
