Hi all,
I've got an EDEN WT 550 amp on order. It will not ship until September of this year . Not sure if I can wait that long. What would you recommend as an alternative : I play mostly fusion / funk/slap and lotsa fretless.
Cheers !

I also don't know if Eden/JAM will actually have there Canadian debacle figured out by then either......I wouldn't count on it.
I love my Eden gear but I have never seen a company fall flat on it's face as many times as Eden has in just the past 5-years.
Buy used or look somewhere else.

They're discontinued but dealers still have them in stock, and I got mine from an authorized dealer on closeout back in December for $495 shipped. In many ways they're superior to the 550 (5 pounds lighter, WAY better compressor, pre/post D.I.), but slightly less power and less flexible EQ (neither were issues for me). |

Buy used or look somewhere else. | I just learned that JAM wants EDEN to comply with CSA norms : «Every electrical device or component must be certified by the Canadian Standards Association (or recognized equivalent) before it can be sold in Canada. Implicit in this is that all wiring must be done with CSA-approved materials. They perform testing similar to the UL (a bit more stringent), except that CSA (or recognized equivalent) approval is required by law. Again, like the UL, if a fire was caused by non-CSA-approved equipment, your insurance company may not have to pay the claim.»

| | Registered User President, Baer Amplification | | | | I played through a WT550 for years and they are great sounding amps. If that's the sound you are after, then just dig around. I'm sure you can find one in stock somewhere. http://www.americanmusical.com/Item--i-EDE-WT550-LIST | | Thread Tools | Search this Thread | | | |
