Am I getting the most out of my Ampeg SVT 4Pro?

I purchased this amp awhile ago and and I'm running it thru an Ampeg 8x10. I have the ampeg 4pro set on mono with the speakon(I think I spelled that right) cable and all. The specs say it is rated at 300-Watts x 2/900 (mono-bridged @ 8 Ohms) 490-Watts x 2/1200 (mono-bridged @ 4 Ohms). I guess my question is how do I know if I'm running it at 4 Ohms or 8 Ohms?

your cab determines that and the amp automatically detects it. since the 810 is a 4 ohm cab, you're running at 4 ohms.
