Has anyone used the Ameson MOSFET Bass Head? I'm going to buy a head an right now, it is a toss-up between this and the Laney RB9, Carvin BX500 or used Ampeg SVTIII.

AMESON MOSFET BASS AMPLIFIER ARCHITECTURAL SPECIFICATION:

Single channel design with choice of active (low sensitivity) and passive (high sensitivity) inputs.
On jacks: Input stage has Gain control and Switchable compressor and Enhance control.
EQ: Bass control, 7 band low mid - high mid graphic, Treble control.
Master Volume control and Limiter defeat switch (your choice boy...)
XLR balanced DI output
MAJ traditional Hitachi Mosfet output stage - Open, short, thermal, and bad load protection. Available in 190 Watts rms or 320 Watts rms into 4 Ohm versions.
Build standard to be as impeccable as I can make it.
Case to be constructed from 12mm Birch plywood for strength and lightness, with choice of coverings, styles, and pipings. Style: All credit to Lyndon Laney and Jim Marshall for this one - this is a perfect and acceptable format. And it looks great. Size: 8" x 22" x 8" (HWD). Weight: approx 10Kg. 320 Watt version case is same but 12" deep, and weight is 13Kgs..
Oh the volume and gain controls go to eleven.. Yes thats right - not 8 or ten - ELEVEN. Must be louder than one that goes to ten then... http://majelectronic.co.uk/Amesonbasscrop1.jpg

Hi.

I really like the looks, IMO that's what every amp should look like .

Having had loads of bad luck with Class A/B MosFets, I'm not a fan, but without going to full tube or class D, there's probably no feasible alternatives.

Can You compare it head to head against the competition?

It's Your ears (and eyes ) that has to live with the decision in the end.

Regards
Sam
