amp to (2) cabinets

Sign in to disble this ad
Sorry for what is probably yet another obvious answer.. but I'm planning to hook up a Walter Woods MI400 (400 watts at 8 ohms) into two 8 ohm Eden cab(s), 2x10 rated at 8 ohms/ 500 watts, the other is a 4x10 rated 8 ohms at 350 watts.
Should I run each cab separate to rear of amp, or from cab to cab to amp??
How will it effect sound, amp, etc??

Thanks,
Bryan

Hi, first thing is first. You need to confirm that your Walter Woods amp is able to handle a 4 ohm load. I can't find information on your specific model but it appears that many other WW models do handle a 4 ohm load. Now, assuming your amp will be safe, it doesn't matter which way you connect your cabs, you will be presenting the same 4 ohm load to your amp. The only difference will be where you are inserting a parellel connection, and that is irrelavent.
