Amp to cab connection question

Sign in to disble this ad
I have a new setup. Hartke LH500 and a epifani UL2 210 4ohm cabinet. The hartke only has 1/4" outputs that say 8ohms under each. I know this may sound stupid, but will I still draw 4ohms if only connected to one of the speaker outputs? I am used to seeing a "bridged" switch or diagram. Also. Should I be using speakon for some reason I am unaware of? Last time I owned an amp speakon wasn't around. ANyway. Thanks.

The answer is on page 7.

If the cabinet has a 1/4 in. input, you can use a 1/4 in. to 1/4 in. speaker cable...

Yes, you'll be running at 4ohms because there's a 4ohm cab connected to it, regardless of the label on the jacks. I assume they're labeled 8 because there's 2 of them, meaning if you plug an 8ohm cab into each one, you're at 4ohms (the amps minimum).
