I just bought an Ampeg B2R, and am on the search for the right Cab! I'm upgrading from an Acoustic B200 combo, and want to pair this correctly.
200w @ 8ohm
350w @ 4ohm
I Figured an Ampeg Cab would be the way to go...but also think there are probably 100's of options!
I'm looking for a 4x10 cab, and need all 350w, so it needs to be a 4 ohm cab....right?
I play a wide variety of music, mostly rock and reggae.
Any thoughts? |

Probably the best spec that will help people on Talkbass help you would be how much you are budgeting for the cab.

If you want loud, go for 2 x (4 x 10)'s (both 8ohms)

Between the drums and my guitarist (peavy 100w tube head, 4x12 peavy cab) I get drowned out!
I bought the ampeg for better sound and for a bit more volume. |

As far as moving air there are more factors than that, but area is a big one. Also a good cabinet will almost always beat a combo. Someone one TB once said that combos are all about compromise. That's not say that there's no compromising in cabinets, but less so. |
