Amp Combo Suggestions

Sign in to disble this ad
Hey Tb'ers

Time to pick your brains, I have just started jamming occasionally with a couple of guitar players. Up until now I have really only played for my own amusement using either a tascam bass trainer (when my wife and daughter are using the television) or through my Peavey Microbass that I have had for years.

So far the microbass has been loud enough for the basement jamming we have been doing, but I am wondering if its time to look into something with a little more punch? Keep in mind portability and I am not a rich man

I am just returning to bass-playing, and wanted something for practice that could also handle small and medium-sized venues, just in case gigging happens. A friend who gigs regularly in small and medium-sized venues said his Ampeg BA-115HP does the job. I got one. For a combo amp, it's a brute (of course it is, it's an Ampeg). Plus, it has a plug to connect it with the PA system if necessary.

Oh....and I found it used, so the price didn't hurt so much.
