Imho it sounds as if #2 has a little more mid sizzle, sort of like an SWR sound. While #1 sounds a bit more traditional, like an Ampeg sound.

I might go with #2

Congrats Very very close judgement 2 is in fact GK micro bass 150S being driven quite a bit and BASS 1 is indeed an old Ampeg 115 driven with an all tube hiwatt clone.
If I rolled off a bit of upper mid on the little genz combo and stuck a bit more on the hiwatt and a bit more presence they would be hard to tell apart in a mix.
GK Thats not bad tone at all for a tiny little amp I will have to admit.
