AMP DOESN'T WORK?
My RH750 refuses to work with the Warwick cabs at church despite all the connections being the same.
The amp refuses to budge; even the tuner won't function when it's set up.
But everything is fine when I use the headphone feature at home.
What could be wrong?
Try patching the preamp portion into a different amp that is known to work.
The headphone out will still work if the power section is blown.
Does the tuner work? Mute button engaged maybe? Are you using Speakon cables? Could be the wrong type. Can you try with a standard 1/4" cable? What are the impedance of the Warwick cabs?
Is the speaker plugged into the speaker out and not the headphone out?
Could be Speakon cables wired "the other way" (there are at least two ways to wire them).
Could be a blown power section.
Does that require a load on it? In other words, are you supposed to run it without a speaker at all?
Do the cabs work at church with another amp?
Are you using the same guitar cable at church?
This really could be any of a dozen things. We need to know EXACTLY what you have narrowed down and what you haven't. Too many variables here so far.
Yes the church Warwick amp works fine with the cab - it's a very old setup though & needs replacing. Hence the reason I've tried my own amp, which is brand new.
The amp lights up ok but nothing happens when you select the tuner via the mute button. Fine at home when plugged in on its own though. Scratch head. Maybe the speak on cables aren't compatible?
Is that Warwick setup an old school bi-amp system maybe. Could also be janky AC power. Check the outlets and make sure they are grounded. Can you try your amp with different cabs? Maybe take it to a music store and ask if you could try it with one of their cabs.
What is the impedance of the cabinet at church?
